Compliance Update: VETS-100/VETS-100A Filing Cycle Delays

The Department of Labor (DOL) has issued a special announcement regarding the 2011 VETS-100/VETS-100A filing cycle. The DOL had planned to begin accepting electronic submissions of forms on August 1, but is experiencing technical problems. As a result, the system is not currently available to register or file for the 2011 cycle.
Typically, the reporting period is from August 1 through September 30. This year the DOL is anticipating the technical problems will not be resolved until October 1, and the period will begin then. Also, any contractor filing for the first time in 2011 will not be able to register until the system is available.
To address the delays in reporting caused by the technical problems, the DOL has issued a statement that they “will not initiate enforcement actions against contractors who submit the VETS-100/VETS-100A from October 1, 2011 through November 30, 2011.”
