At this year’s Industry Liaison Group (ILG) National Conference, Tom Dowd, Acting Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Director, talked about the Agency’s desire to work more collaboratively with federal contractors and to provide better compliance assistance.
Apparently, he meant it, as the Agency has already scheduled several Compliance Assistance Town Hall meetings to get feedback from the public about “the experiences of federal contractors when implementing and managing their nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity requirements,” and to improve outreach. Although open to the public, OFCCP’s announcement says these sessions will be of particular interest to human resource managers, equal employment opportunity specialists, chief compliance officers, and other personnel who are directly involved with ensuring their company’s compliance with OFCCP’s requirements
The first few meetings will be held on September 19, in Washington D.C., September 26 in San Francisco, and September 28 in Chicago. They are filling up fast, and the Washington D.C. event is already full. To register for San Francisco or Chicago, you can go to the OFCCP’s website and click on OFCCP Hosts Compliance Assistance Town Hall under Events & News.
