Berkshire Selected as One of Baltimore Suns Top Work Place of 2020

The honor is particularly notable during a year of unpredictable challenges.

Berkshire is proud to be named to the Baltimore Sun’s annual list of Top Workplaces in Greater Baltimore in 2020.

Of 2,183 employers in the region that were nominated for the honor, Berkshire was among just 100 small businesses that were acknowledged for providing a top-quality work environment for its employees.

According to the Baltimore Sun, honorees were chosen based on a 24-question survey that relies on employee responses to rate workplace culture. Scoring calculations were then completed by an objective third-party vendor to produce the final list of Top Workplaces.

The honor, which Berkshire has received five times prior, is particularly notable during a year of unpredictable challenges – a global pandemic, mandated remote work, a contentious political environment, and more.

“I am so grateful to our staff and leadership for fostering a healthy work environment through unprecedented change in 2020,” said Berkshire President Beth Ronnenburg“It is in times like these that workplace culture can make or break a company. I am deeply proud of how Berkshire has pulled together to continue offering top-quality services to our clients, while maintaining a family-like environment for our employees – even as the world around us has created division and separation.”

A recent internal survey of employees at Berkshire reflected a high satisfaction rate among employees, particularly in areas of work-life balance, pay, benefits, and employee connection. Even as Berkshire continues to make high marks for its exceptional workplace culture, leadership continues to seek staff feedback and find new ways to strengthen the company from the inside out.

“We will continue to strive for excellence in our workplace, using our most recent internal survey to process employee feedback and identify new areas of improvement moving forward,” said Ronnenburg. “We have always been, and will always be, a family-focused workplace, offering flexibility and showing genuine concern for employees who have made Berkshire their home.”
