According to the [Illinois Equal Pay Act](https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=2501&ChapterID=68), all private employers with at least 100 Illinois employees and file an EEO-1 report are required to obtain an Equal Pay Registration Certificate (EPRC) by **March 23, 2024**. Businesses who are subject to this requirement were expected to submit an application to obtain the EPRC between March 24, 2022 and March 23, 2024, and then recertify every 2 years thereafter. The Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) collected contact information from businesses who were subject to this requirement and assigned each business a date by which they must submit their application. However, the law specifies that “The Department’s failure to assign a business a registration date does not exempt the business form compliance with this section.”

The EPRC requires the employer to provide wage records, a signed equal pay compliance statement and pay a $150 filing fee.
