On July 16, 2026, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved a three-year extension of the Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form (“Form CC-305”) that employers use to offer applicants and employees the opportunity to self-identify their disability status.
Our April blog “What Federal Contractors Need to Know about VEVRAA and Section 503 Today” explained that the Department of Labor (DOL) had filed a request to extend CC-305’s use beyond the April 30, 2026 expiration date. In the interim period, contractors were able to use the expired form to continue to comply with their voluntary self-identification obligations under the current Section 503 regulations.
The OMB’s Notice of Action posted on July 16th approved the DOL’s request without any change whatsoever. Also according to that notice, the Form CC-305 is approved through July 31, 2029.
While the OFCCP proposed changes to the Section 503 regulations in July 2025, that proposal has not yet been finalized. As a result, the requirement to offer applicants and employees the opportunity to voluntarily provide their disability status using Form CC-305 is ongoing and required until any changes are finalized. Now that the form’s expiration has been extended, contractors should begin using the version of the Form CC-305 that includes the updated expiration date.
