Written by Kristen N. Johnson, MS, MBA, SHRM-SCP | October 8 2020

Following the issuance of Executive Order 13950 “Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping”, the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has created a FAQ page on their website. The Order, issued by President Trump on September 22nd, 2020, establishes the policy of the United States “not to promote race or sex stereotyping or scapegoating” and prohibits federal contractors from inculcating such views in their employees in workplace diversity and inclusion trainings.

The FAQs outline the effective dates for the order and provides examples of race and sex stereotyping and scapegoating.   The FAQs also address providing “unconscious bias” or “implicit bias” training by federal contractors and explains further the complaint process available to employees.
