President Biden has reestablished an independent council designed to provide guidance on strengthening equal pay and gender discrimination mandates. This council will be co-chaired by Jennifer Klein, currently working for Time’s Up, a group advocating for gender safety and parity in the workforce, and Julissa Reynoso, Chief of Staff for First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. The Gender Policy Council will work in concert with the Domestic Policy Council, the National Economic Council, and the National Security Council.
The establishment of this council, coupled with the placement of Jenny Yang as OFCCP Director, and Yang’s support of the Component 2 compensation requirement while at the EEOC, signals contractors should expect a Federal compensation reporting mandate to be announced in the coming months.
