How to Prepare Your University for More Admissions Transparency Requirements

Date: September 25, 2025 - 2:30pm (ET)

2025 has been a year of transition for compliance, and perhaps no industry has been more affected than higher education. Last month, the White House threw colleges and universities another huge change – you will now be required to report data “disaggregated by race and sex relating to their applicant pool, admitted cohort, and enrolled cohort at the undergraduate level and for specific graduate and professional programs.”

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon also directed the National Center for Education Statistics (the entity that oversees collection of the IPEDS data), to develop a “rigorous audit process to ensure the data being collected is accurate and reported consistently across institutions.”

Bottom line: It appears that given the expanded scope of the admissions data collection and the rigorous auditing process likely to be implemented, the Administration intends to analyze admissions data in an effort to root out what it sees as “illegal DEI.”

On September 25, Berkshire Co-President Patrick Nooren will host Vicki Lipnic, partner at Resolution Economics and former EEOC Commissioner, and Paul White, partner at Resolution Economics, to discuss these changes and the impact on college and university admissions.

They will discuss:

  • Current Guidance about “illegal DEI” from the Trump Administration
  • Update on Trump Administration’s Enforcement Actions against colleges and universities
  • Recommendations for how to analyze your data before you submit to detect – and prepare to defend – any perceived disparities that may exist
