In celebration of the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act anniversary, the first bill signed by President Obama in 2009 that amended Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the OFCCP published a list of 10 FAQs on Compensation History.

The FAQs explain “compensation history” and how using this information can affect pay disparities. The FAQ also mentions the new proposed rule, published by the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council (FAR), that would prevent federal contracts or subcontractors from considering an applicant’s salary history when making employment decisions and would require contractors to disclose pay ranges for certain job postings.
