The Department of Labor has confirmed that Jenny Yang will leave her position as Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) to take a position at the White House.

Following shortly after DOL secretary Marty Walsh announced his resignation, Yang’s seemingly abrupt departure is expected as early as this week.

Yang will be leaving the OFCCP to take over as deputy assistant to the president for racial justice and equity on the White House Domestic Policy Council, where she’ll advise Biden on domestic policy including labor issues.

In her tenure as director of OFCCP, which began January 20, 2021 under the Biden administration, OFCCP launched the Contractor Portal, introducing the first-ever requirement for federal contractors to certify their affirmative action plans.

In Yang's absence, Deputy Director Michele Hodge will serve as acting director for OFCCP; Berkshire anticipates that the AAP certification process, with the 2023 deadline announced last week, will continue as planned.

Berkshire will be monitoring the leadership shuffle at OFCCP and will provide updates as they become available. Stay tuned!
